Reaching Out

Sharing God’s Love in Practical Ways

Whether across the street or across the world, Pioneer Church is dedicated to helping others. Listed below are several of the outreach activities we are involved in.

Soles4Souls

We sponsored a shoe drive in May to support Soles4Souls. The front of the church was filled with shoes as we celebrated “Barefoot Sunday”. Thanks to all who participated in this project.  To learn more about Soles4Souls go to http://www.soles4souls.org.

Maggies’s Matches

Remember to bring your unmatched socks for the Maggie’s Matches project sponsored by the Christian Youth Fellowship group. To learn more about Maggie’s Matches go to http://www.maggiesmatches.com.

Belpre Area Ministries

Belpre Area Ministries (BAM) is a local mission dedicated to helping those in our community in times of need. Services include a food pantry, help with utility and medical expenses, a thrift store, and providing meals and gifts for children and their families at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Members of Pioneer are active in this ministry in many ways.

E.V.E

E.V.E. is an organization that provides shelter and protection to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Pioneer is active in collecting and donating items necessary for the shelter to operate. We also provide gifts to the children at Christmas and Easter.

 Operation Christmas Child

Each Christmas season, Pioneer Church members prepare shoe boxes filled with gifts for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child ministry. These shoe boxes are sent to children across the world to allow them to have a Christmas, and more importantly, to tell them about Jesus Christ. One of these shoe boxes led to the development of Pioneer’s Africa mission project. See below.

Africa Mission

Several years ago one of our members received a thank you note from a child who received their Operation Christmas Child shoe box. The note was written by the child’s teacher in Burkina Faso, a country in Africa. Burkina is one of the poorest countries in the world. From this simple act, a great mission was born. Pioneer, along with other churches and individuals, has provided school supplies, school lunches, and a vitally needed water well. We’ve helped build a new school for the children, helped build housing for the teachers, and sent clothing, eye glasses, bicycles, furniture, and many other needed supplies to those in Burkina. This mission is truly changing the lives of people, especially children, half way around the world. Praise God for making this happen!

Pioneer Church invites other churches, groups and individuals to join this “God driven” plan and work in the small country of Burkina Faso.  It can seem difficult for small churches to get involved in world mission but when we join together, we can be strong in reaching out to “the least of these”.
